Sometimes it is also a combination of dirt, flypoints, soot and nicotine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This type of dirt, i call restorer <strong>Surface contamination<\/strong> and cleaning costs are depending on the size of the painting and the paint coat (thick painted or flat, a varnished or unvarnished painting, the state of the linen etc.).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This must always be looked at our studio for a correct price, but a global price for medium size painting is: \u20ac 375, &#8211; over the decades. It looks like you&#8217;re wearing sunglasses, looking at the painting.<br \/>\nIf the restaurator has the opinion that the meaning and intention of the painting and the artist is no longer valid, it may be decided to remove this dark brown varnish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Restaurators call this <strong>Varnish Removal<\/strong>. This is a lot more work than ordinary surface contamination removal.<br \/>\nVarnish removal will require even more precision and care, because the varnish must often be softened with a solvent mixture and then wiped with cotton swabs, centimeters for centimeter.<br \/>\nThe original original paint layer must remain intact.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Often, during the removal of varnishes,\u00a0 older &#8211; not done so well-\u00a0 restorations appear. These must then be restored.<br \/>\nThis is often a longer-term workflow with the associated higher costs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For a correct price estimate, the painting must always be examined in advance at my studio.
